Tour Details
Our tour kicks off in Cape Town and heads to Vanrhynsdorp for our first night stop-over. Along the way we enjoy the floral displays of the West Coast. Next day we travel further north towards the well-loved Okiep Country Hotel, your home base for the next three unforgettable nights.
Located in the middle of one of the world’s most breathtaking floral displays, you’ll enjoy the comfort of this historic hotel while nature puts on its annual show. Expect cosy lodge accommodation, buffet dinners that’ll have you going back for seconds, a Woodfired Pizza evening, a fully stocked onsite bar, refreshing swimming pool, and a relaxing lounge – all the modern amenities you need after a day exploring the wild.
Each day we’ll venture out to some of the most iconic flower destinations in the region: the Goegap Nature Reserve, Skilpad Wildflower Reserve, Namaqua National Park, and even into the dramatic landscapes of the Richtersveld. Along the way, you’ll be treated to scenic lunch stops and hidden gems only known to us locals.

DAY 1
Departure Cape Town
Our journey begins at 9:00 AM as we depart Cape Town, heading west towards the scenic West Coast. We’ll pass through the charming town of Darling and enjoy a light lunch. After lunch, we continue our drive towards Vanrhynsdorp, traveling via places like Piketberg, Citrusdal and Clanwilliam. Along the way, we’ll pause for photo opportunities to capture the spectacular wildflowers that bloom during this season. Our first evening will be spent in Vanrhynsdorp. (Venue to be confirmed)
DAY 2
Vanrhynsdorp to Okiep
After a hearty breakfast, we travel north, making our way through Kammieskroon. Our main destination for the day is the renowned Skilpad National Park, where we’ll be treated to breath taking displays of stunning wildflowers. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the park, surrounded by this natural beauty. In the late afternoon, we proceed to Okiep, where we’ll spend the night at the Okiep Country Hotel, indulging in a delicious buffet dinner.
DAY 3
Richtersveld 4×4 Flower Experience
Surely one of the highlights of our journey — today promises to be unforgettable. After a hearty breakfast at the Okiep Country Hotel, we set off on a unique 4×4 adventure into the Richtersveld, one of South Africa’s most dramatic and geologically fascinating landscapes. This remote, mountainous region is celebrated for its rugged terrain, ancient rock formations, and some of the most unusual plant life found anywhere on earth. Our journey through the Richtersveld allows for ample photo stops, quiet moments of awe, and fascinating insights into the area’s ecological and cultural significance.
DAY 4
Goegab Nature Reserve
After breakfast, we set off to visit the tiny mining towns of Nababeep & Concordia which was once the richest copper ore mining region in the world and after head over to the Goegab Nature Reserve for another day of wildflower exploration. The reserve is known for its vibrant and diverse flower displays, offering a visual feast for flower enthusiasts. After our visit, we travel back to Okiep Country Hotel for our last night’s stay, ending the night with a delicious Woodfired Pizza evening by the pool.
DAY 5
Farewell
On our final day, we enjoy breakfast before beginning our journey back to Cape Town. Along the way, we’ll have one last opportunity to appreciate the floral splendor as we make our way south. We’ll arrive in Cape Town in the afternoon, where we’ll bid farewell to our fellow travelers after an unforgettable adventure.
