Our journey begins at the Okiep Country Hotel at 8 am, where we meet for a tour and safety briefing before departing in our self-drive 4×4 vehicles at 9am. Please arrange your own accommodation for the night before departure.  We head north east towards Khamgab River Camp on the Orange River via the small mining village of Concordia driving through rocky terrain in 4×4 mode.

DAY 2

Kamgab to Ramansdrift

Wild Camping, No ablutions, Provide own meals

After a delicious breakfast at Kamgab Camp, our spirits soar as we continue on our journey east along the dusty track bound for Ramansdrift.

Its advisable to bring along your sun hat, sunscreen and lots of water especially in the summer months from October to April.

DAY 3

Ramansdrift to Hartbeesmond

Wild Camping, No ablutions, Provide own meals

Covering a distance of approximately 300km of the 600km long trail, takes us 4 days. This trail is designed for off-road drivers and requires a 4×4 vehicle with low range and high clearance and an experienced guide. The trail is designed to be an eco-friendly adventure, with a strong emphasis on responsible off-roading and conservation. Participants are required to stick to the designated tracks, avoid disturbing the local flora and fauna, and leave no trace of your presence.

DAY 4

Hartbeesmond to Klein Pella Guest Farm

Camping with ablutions, Provide Own Meals – Restaurant meals to be arranged at own costs.

We continue our journey eastward and set up camp for the night at Klein Pella, home to the largest date farm in the Southern Hemisphere, spanning 18,000 hectares along the Orange River.

DAY 5

Klein Pella to Red Rock River Camp in Onseepkans

Camping with ablutions, Dinner Braai Included.

The route east to Onseepkans takes us along the Orange River, passing through the town of Pofadder. Onseepkans is a small settlement situated on the riverbank and serves as a border post between South Africa (Pofadder) and Namibia (Keetmanshoop).

DAY 6

Red Rock River Camp

River Rafting with lunch, Provide Own Evening Meals.

After breakfast, our hosts will lead us on a scenic river-rafting excursion along the picturesque Orange River, using two-person rafts. For lunch, we’ll pause on a natural island amidst the river, where we’ll enjoy a freshly prepared meal by our skilled Nama guides.

DAY 7

Our final Day – We say our Good Bye’s

After six days of experiencing the adventure of wild camping along the Orange River, traversing arid landscapes, and navigating rugged, dry riverbeds, we bid each other farewell as we head off in our respective directions.
