Overview
The Namaqualand: Desert in Colour 4×4 Lodge Tour is built around the flower season, with routes adapted to current bloom, weather and access conditions.
Okiep Country Hotel is the home base for four nights, with daily guided routes into floral landscapes around Goegap, Kammieskroon, Skilpad and the Richtersveld region.
This page does not guarantee a fixed bloom location. The guide adjusts the route to give the group the strongest available Namaqualand flower and cultural experience.
What makes this tour special
Follow guided routes adapted to rainfall, sunlight, weather and bloom conditions.
Stay at Okiep Country Hotel unless a departure-specific approved exception applies.
Explore classic Namaqualand flower and landscape areas from the approved itinerary.
Visit the Skilpad area where conditions and operational access allow.
Experience dry riverbeds, mountain views and remote Northern Cape scenery.
Okiep's mining history and regional culture form part of the wider tour context.

Your journey into Namaqualand
Seasonal blooms are the core of the route, with daily choices based on current conditions.
The tour includes historic towns, mining heritage and Namaqualand communities.
Self-drive 4x4 touring allows the group to reach gravel routes and remote scenery.
Returning to the same hotel base each night keeps the experience simple and comfortable.
Dry valleys, passes and wide Northern Cape views add contrast to the flower focus.
The guide can adjust daily routing to respond to flowers, weather and road conditions.
