More than a cycling tour
Travel from Ceres through Kagga Kamma and Kromrivier to Clanwilliam on a five-day lodge adventure that combines scenic 4x4 driving with cycling, nature and cultural experiences. Discover dramatic mountain passes, Stadsaal Caves, ancient San rock art, Wuppertal and the Olifants River.
Enjoy four nights of lodge and guesthouse accommodation, shared meals and time beside the river or beneath the stars. Cycling is one part of a varied journey, alongside sightseeing, heritage visits and time to relax.

The introductory tour rate is R17,995 per person sharing. Bike rental and the Bike Care Package are optional and are charged per bike.

Rent an eBike for five days
R17,995 tour + R3,250 rental = R21,245, assuming one guest and one rented bike.
Confirm the number of rental days and rental cleaning and maintenance inclusions with the team when booking.
Bike care is optional, not a compulsory tour charge. The package covers four riding days; an additional individual day costs R400 if requested. Major repairs, replacement parts and any requirements for conventional bicycle care should be confirmed with the team.

Day 1Ceres to Kagga Kamma
Meet at the Ceres Information Centre for the 08:00 briefing and 09:00 departure. Travel via the R46 through mountain scenery, with a lunch snack pack on the way. Arrival at Kagga Kamma is planned for approximately 13:00. Settle in before an afternoon exploratory bike ride through the surrounding landscape, followed by dinner at the lodge.

Day 2Kagga Kamma to Kromrivier
After breakfast, follow approximately 100 km of scenic gravel roads and mountain passes towards Kromrivier, including the Blinkberg Pass route. Stop for a light lunch at Mount Ceder, then check in for a two-night stay. Enjoy time to explore the surroundings by bike or unwind at the lodge before dinner.

Day 3Stadsaal Caves and San Rock Art
Explore the Cederberg with a ride towards the remarkable sandstone formations of Stadsaal Caves and nearby ancient San rock art. Enjoy lunch at Cederberg Oasis before returning to Kromrivier. Spend the afternoon on a leisurely ride, beside the river or relaxing in the mountain setting, followed by dinner.

Day 4Wuppertal to Clanwilliam
Leave Kromrivier after breakfast and travel the scenic 4x4 route via historic Wuppertal. Discover the village, local craftsmanship and the shoe factory visit in the planned itinerary, with a roughly two-hour ride along the Tra Tra River and a packed lunch. Continue to Clanwilliam and check in at Yellow Aloe Guest House before dinner at the Smokehouse Restaurant.

Day 5Olifants River and Farewell
After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely final ride along the Olifants River, with mountain views and a packed picnic lunch beside the river. Return towards Clanwilliam in the afternoon to conclude the adventure. The final route and riding sections, including any Algeria stop, will be confirmed by the team.

Before you book
Do I need an eBike?
No. You may bring your own eBike or a suitable conventional bicycle, or rent one of our eBikes. Conventional cycling requires sufficient fitness for mountain terrain. Confirm suitability with the team.
Do I need my own 4x4?
This is a guided self-drive 4x4 tour. Bring a suitable vehicle and confirm vehicle requirements, bike transport and charging arrangements with the team before booking.
Is bike rental included in R17,995?
No. The introductory price is for the tour per person sharing. Optional rental costs R650 per bike per day, subject to availability.
Is the Bike Care Package compulsory?
No. Guests bringing their own eBikes can choose the four-day R1,500 package, select individual days at R400, or manage their own bike care.
How far do we ride each day?
Ask the team for daily riding distances, elevation and technical grading before deciding whether to bring a conventional bicycle. The approximately 100 km on day two describes the vehicle route.
What should I bring?
Bring a helmet, suitable cycling clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, a warm jacket, personal medication and your camera. If bringing your own eBike, bring its charger and confirm transport arrangements.
What does single occupancy cost?
The single occupancy supplement is R2,800 per person for the full tour. At the introductory rate, single occupancy is R20,795 before optional bike extras and applicable payment fees.
What else should I confirm?
Ask about entrance fees and permits, drinks, vehicle fuel, bike transport and charging, rental terms and the booking and cancellation policy.
