• Namaqua Eco Trail 4-Day Tour

The route and terrain covered during this tour were absolutely perfect for my first off-road adventure in my Mahindra Thar! The carefully planned itinerary allowed me to put my vehicle through its paces, tackling a variety of challenging terrain that tested its capabilities while showcasing its strengths. From rocky inclines to sandy dunes, every obstacle was a thrilling opportunity to push my driving skills and explore the vehicle's limits. The tour's route was expertly curated to provide a mix of excitement and scenic beauty, making for an unforgettable experience that left me eager for more.

One of the highlights of the tour was undoubtedly the breathtaking scenic views and unique landscapes that unfolded before my eyes. Driving through the Orange river 4x4 tour was a truly unforgettable experience, offering a glimpse into a hidden side of South African beauty that I'd never encountered before. The rugged, otherworldly landscape stretched out as far as the eye could see, with towering mountains, vast expanses of desert, and dramatic rock formations creating a visual feast that was simply stunning. Being able to drive through this incredible terrain in my Mahindra Thar added to the excitement, allowing me to soak up the scenery at my own pace and truly appreciate the natural beauty of this remarkable region.
The guided aspect of the tour was top-notch, thanks to our exceptional guide, Allan. He went above and beyond to ensure we were all comfortable with the terrain, providing expert guidance and valuable tips on navigating the challenging routes. But what truly set Allan apart was his vast knowledge of the area, which extended far beyond just the driving routes. He shared fascinating insights into the local fauna and flora, as well as the rich history and cultural significance of the region. His passion for the area was infectious, and his ability to share his expertise in a way that was engaging and accessible made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Allan's guidance added a whole new layer of depth to the tour, and I feel fortunate to have had him leading the way.
Allan from Why Not Africa Tours was an exceptional guide who truly made our off-road adventure unforgettable. The overall experience was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting off-road adventure. The level of challenge was just right for an entry-level experience - it was engaging and tested my skills, but I felt comfortable throughout, thanks to Allan's expert guidance and support. There were a few minor exceptions where I needed a bit of extra help, but that's exactly what Allan was there for.
The fun factor was off the charts - this tour was an absolute blast! It was the perfect antidote to everyday troubles, allowing me to unwind and relax in a truly unique and exhilarating environment. By the end of the tour, I was already planning my next adventure!
As for value for money, I'd say this tour was absolutely worth every penny. The combination of expert guidance, stunning scenery, and thrilling off-road experiences made for an unforgettable experience that I'd recommend to anyone without hesitation. If you're on the fence about whether to do this tour or not, my advice is simple: just do it! You won't regret it."

Re the 2-8 May Westcoast & Namakwaland self-drive tour
Thank you to all the new friends we made and to Alan, our tour leader for an exhilarating tour and Piet for sharing his in depth knowledge.
Low key 4x4 to tougher challenges, which total novices handled like pro’s after 6 days. Food at the region’s top restaurants and guest farms. Accommodation raging from four star to more basic, after all it is an off-road excursion. Everything silky clean with proper ablutions everywhere - excluding a whistle stop or two in the veld.
The terrain area covered ranges from Weskus Renosterbos to the semi-desert of the eastern Richersveld, with SANPARKS biggest secret - the Namakwa National Park in the middle.
Nigramoep - Place of Black Water at the Nigramoep Slow Living Guestfarm, was a huge surprise.
We had a great time enjoying hospitality and friendliness in abundance that is part and parcel of the people of Namakwaland.
We have been on similar4x4 group tours before.
None is a match for the comfort, the cullinary experience, the great drives and the astonishing diversity that we experienced.

Why Not Africa have developed a very special tour encompassing the Nama Eco Trail, Richtersveld and Namaqualand. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would readily do it again! Thank you Alan.

• Namaqua Eco Trail 12-Day Tour

Alan as a tour guide took us to places I would never have thought of going to. Organized paddling on the Orangr river plus a lunch which was just amazing. I General the 4 in 1 Namakwa trip was organized with different locations that made it exciting everyday. Would really do another trip with Alan (Why Not Africa Tours) Thank Alan for an exhilarated experience. Will remember this trip and the new friends we made for a very long time.

• Namaqua Eco Trail 12-Day Tour

We did the first part of the Namaqua 4×4 eco trail with Alan in August 2023. Thanks to him, despite our lack of experience, we were able to tackle this trip with complete peace of mind. His 4×4 driving and motorcycle riding advice for my husband was effective. And when my husband burned his clutch, right in the middle of the ride, he immediately found a solution. Thanks to his contacts we were able to leave the motorcycle in a safe place.

Throughout the tour Allan was available and gave good advice, offering us a very pleasant stay. By the way I haven't told you everything…. Alan did all this with a broken right ankle and a pair of crutches…. Hats off Alan!

• Namaqua Eco Trail 12-Day Tour

Good day my people I am from Windhoek, Namibia Just want to tell you, me and 2 friends of mine was on a day tour with Mr Alan from Why Not Africa Tours on Friday (20/01/23) It was awesome ..

We saw alot of animals like giraffes, ostriches, spring bucks and blue beasts, birds oh and even a Cape cobra that was running over the road and into a nearby tree. It was so peaceful and stressfree just to sit and watch the different animals who live together. I wish to go again one day.
