On this seven-day Cape Town to Namaqualand camping tour, expect thrilling off-road drives, stunning coastal landscapes, and riveting experiences in the unique culture and natural beauty of South Africa’s West Coast. You’ll navigate sandy trails, explore historic shipwrecks, dine on fresh seafood, and visit historic diamond-mining towns.
This camping adventure offers some amazing stays at camping sites along the West-Coast with all amenities included and also some wild camping spots with no amenities at all, so bring along all your gear, enough water and food as we travel remote with only some stops offering food and drink on offer. All you’ll need is a reliable 4x4 vehicle with high clearance and an Off-Road Trailer or Camper Trailer or maybe a RTT for your Bakkie. Bring along your sense of adventure, and get ready for a journey filled with spectacular scenery, local insights, and unforgettable memories.

Day 1
Paternoster to lambertsbayWe gather in Paternoster at 8 a.m. over a coffee and a chance to get acquainted with everyone on the trip while your guide, Alan share meeting briefs with you. (Coffee included) Paternoster is known for its picturesque fishing boats and scenic beaches and lends a quaint and authentic West Coast experience.

Day 2
Lambertsbay to BrandseBaai Wild CampingAfter breakfast, we shift our vehicles into 4x4 mode to tackle the Dunes, a morning filled with negotiating high sandy dunes at the "Dunes" adventure track, just minutes outside Lambertsbaai. With our experienced guide, Alan, by your side, you’ll gain valuable tips on sand driving and 4x4 techniques. Don’t hesitate to ask questions—Alan’s knowledge is both practical and invaluable.
Continuing north after our dune experience, we make our way toward Strandfontein.....

Day 3
BrandseBaai to Waterval Wild CampingAfter a hearty breakfast, (Not Included) we head further north along the West Coast toward our next destination, Waterval Farm. The day’s journey takes us along long, sandy tracks, offering breathtaking coastal views and showcasing the rugged beauty of the West Coast.
These sandy routes present a fun challenge, requiring careful maneuvering, but the reward is the stunning, untamed landscape surrounding you. With the ocean to your left and sand dunes to your right, the drive is nothing short of spectacular.....

Day 4
Waterval to HouthoopAfter breakfast, (Not Included) we travel further north towards and through the Namaqua National Park and visit places like the Spoeg River Caves and later we enjoy lunch in Hondeklip Baai at the Dop & Kreef Restaurant situated right on the shores of the West Coast.
Following lunch we travel to the Wildeperdekloof Pass.....

Day 5
Houthoop to NigramoepAfter breakfast, (Breakfast Included) we continue our journey north to explore the coastal towns of Kleinsee and Port Nolloth. These towns have a rich history rooted in the diamond mining boom, with Alexander Bay once standing as one of the African coast’s most prominent mining hubs.
After exploring Port Nolloth, we’ll enjoy a relaxing seaside lunch.....

Day 6
Nigramoep to Richtersveld & Okiep Country HotelFollowing a breakfast at Nigramoep (Breakfast Included) we embark on a Richtersveld 4x4 excursion, an unforgettable journey into the arid but breath-taking Richtersveld landscape. Our first stop is Eksteensfontein, a Nama community established during the apartheid era as part of a resettlement program.....

Day 7
Departure Okiep Country HotelWe enjoy a final breakfast together before bidding each other farewell but not before Alan takes you on one last journey into the past. We visit the worlds once richest Copper Mine, right on the doorstep of the Iconic Okiep Country Hotel. We visit the World Heritage site of the Cornish Beam Pump and Smokestack and round off the tour with a visit to the Copper Museum on the premises of the Hotel (Tour Included)
